Recently Genesis has confirmed that the GV60 Magma will be the first vehicle from the new series that is set to launch in 2025. The GV60 is the automaker’s first dedicated luxury EV that was launched in 2021. Since the vehicles get several slight upgrades, the Magma treatment will be the biggest among them.
The electric SUV is set to receive a high-performance upgrade, featuring an improved battery and motor. Genesis has also refined the design, chassis, and thermodynamics to enhance control and high-speed performance.
As the Genesis GV60 Magma has been spotted before its official launch, out in public for the first time showing off its upgraded design. A new video from HealerTV showcases the updated two-line headlight design on the refreshed GV60 model, which has also been spotted testing in preparation for its 2025 debut.
The big difference is the front bumper. In the video you can see the Magma model’s front has a very similar shape to the concept despite the camouflage.
From the side view you can see that it features black Magma exclusive wheels and orange brake callipers, adding to the sporty look. Also the high-performance version is expected to gain a rear spoiler, as shown in the concept. However, it’s hard to see it under the camouflage.
The exterior of the Magma model reveals a lower stance, enhancing its center of gravity for improved handling. It also features a wider front fascia, additional air intakes, roof fins, and upgraded tires for a sportier and more aggressive look.
However, the interior receives a significant upgrade, featuring exclusive Magma branding, vibrant orange bucket seats reminiscent of sports cars, adorned with double-diamond stitching. The cabin is further enhanced with premium Nappa leather and suede accents, creating a luxurious yet dynamic atmosphere.
Genesis claims the GV60 Magma will “closely resemble the concept model.” It is set to pave the way for a lineup of high-performance vehicles, including the G80 EV Magma, which is poised to compete directly with the Tesla Model S Plaid.
The luxury brand Genesis is expected to officially launch the GV60 Magma next year in Korea, followed by Europe and other markets. Also the production of EV is scheduled to begin Q3, 2025.
