Sony and Honda’s upcoming AFEELA EV is now on display for the public in Los Angeles, ahead of its planned California launch in 2026.
Sony first introduced the idea of an EV at CES 2020, surprising many with an unexpected concept. At the time, few believed it would ever reach production. However, after years of development and a strategic partnership with Honda, the AFEELA EV is now set to hit the market next year—at least in California.

Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) recently began accepting $200 reservations, currently limited to California residents. To build anticipation, SHM is following a popular EV marketing strategy—first pioneered by Tesla and George Blankenship—by opening a mall showroom where people can see the AFEELA EV up close.
The AFEELA display is located at Westfield Century City, a shopping hub on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles’ Century City neighborhood, a location deeply tied to the film and entertainment industry. Given its sleek design and cutting-edge tech, the AFEELA EV could find a strong fan base in this area.
The AFEELA studio officially opened to the public this weekend and will remain accessible for the next six months, until August 1. Visitors can drop by at any time to view the vehicle and ask questions, or they can schedule a demo to explore the car’s interior and technologies—though test drives are not available yet.

Previously, we had the opportunity to interact with the AFEELA prototype at the same mall, but at a temporary booth rather than a dedicated space. While the prototype showcased several impressive features, there was still room for refinement.
As a refresher, SHM recently announced a starting price of $89,900 for the AFEELA, with the possibility of additional subscription fees for certain features after an initial three-year period. The first available trim, the AFEELA 1 Signature, will be priced at $102,900.
If you’re in Southern California and interested in experiencing the AFEELA up close, you can visit the studio anytime or book an in-car demonstration in advance.
