As the electric vehicle will be the future we daily see the innovation and development in the automobile industry. From new battery technology, aerodynamics changes and upgrade performance options. This time the California- based tech company Enteligent offers its new innovation. It claims the world’s first DC-to-DC solar powered EV charger.
Entelignet has launched its innovative product in February 2023 at Intersolar North America in Long Beach, California. With its green offering the company now is ready to take pre-orders. The company says that the TLCEV T1 solar EV charger can supply up to 12.5 kW of DC charging. It is twice as fast as many present AC EV chargers. Further it allows at-home, at-work, and at-store charging facilities powered directly by existing solar panels.
Traditionally EV owners rely on home charges that get power from the electric grid that delivers Alternating current (AC) to the electric vehicles. However EV owners, whose batteries operate on Direct Charging (DC) (DC), require converting power from AC to DC in the charging process. Enteligent says its charger’s DC-to-DC conversion results in 20% energy savings and bypasses the EV’s internal conversion electronics, shortening charge time. With this Enteligent innovative charger the process of converting DC directly gets streamlines.
The TLCEV T1 charger’s innovative design seamlessly integrates EV charging functionality into solar canopies and carports. It can easily connect to the existing home PV sterling inverter solar installation unlike the traditional one. Although the solar chargers are not compatible with micro inverter setups.
By operating independently from the grid, it circumvents lengthy permitting processes typically associated with grid-dependent chargers. Offering both NACS and CCS-1 options along with a generous 25-foot cable, the TLCEV T1 charger is poised to revolutionize the way we power our electric vehicles.
Enteligent announced in February 2023 that the brand had raised $7 million in capital from strategic and institutional investors to commercialize its DC-to-DC solar EV charger. Currently you can easily book your solar powered EV chargers to Enteligent. You have to pay a per-order deposit of $250, and its early-bird price of the TLCEV T1 is $2,249.
