Xiaomi is a renowned smartphone maker brand of China has recently unveiled its hyper-sports version of 4-door EV in the SU7 Ultra version, which is expected to be the fastest 4-door car in the world, beat gas or electric.
Based on the similar format like Porsche Taycan, Xiaomi SU7, is an affordable electric sports car that can only be available in China with a price tag of 215,900 RMB, which means it is under $30k USD for the 299hp base model. Meanwhile the “Max” model is available with a base price of around $41K USD, produces 6\3-hp and improved performance all around.
Now a more powerful “Ultra ” Prototype version of the SU7, with extreme hypercar performance is added to the lineup, it offers double the horsepower of the Max version, which produces a whooping 1548-hp. Also it features three motors- two of Xiaomi’s new confusingly named V8s motors, and one V6s.
Weight around 1900 kg or 4188 lbs the Xiaomi SU7 might not be slim, but it is still light weight compared to many of the overpowered hyper-sports cars currently available in the market. As it is made up of carbon fiber to keep it light but it is quite expensive due to that.
For battery the Ultra version uses CATL’s new Qilin II, which is supposed to charge at a C-rate of 5.2 – which means it can be charged from zero to full in 12 minutes, as long as it’s connected to a sufficiently high-powered 897V charger.
The coming EV is able to accelerate from 0-100kmh (0-62mph) in 1.97 seconds, or 0-200 (124) in 5.96 seconds with the top speed of 350k-mh, or 217-mph. Xiaomi says the motors can provide up to 0.6G of regenerative braking force, or up to 2.336G with the physical, braking from 100-km h\ 62-mph to zero in just 25 meters.
Currently there is no official information about the availability or pricing by Xiaomi. Still the prototype, it may or may not actually hit the market.
