Volkswagen FIRW+ICW brand has now trying its hand in the arena of electric cars. Volkswagen’s head of design, Andres Mindt said, “With the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE, we are emphasizing how hightail emotional our sporty top model is.” Or the Volkswagen’s new ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is a tribute to the exclusive Golf Fire and ICE with a reinterpretation of the iconic 90s design.
On Friday Volkswagen has introduced the one-off show car at its ID meeting in Switzerland. It is said that the sporty electric hot hatch was developed with Munich-based BOGNER as an electric reinterpretation of the FIRE+ICE Gold model of the early 90s.
VW said the Gold FIRE+ICE has reveled “cult status” especially the GTI version. The coming EV is also mesmerizing the exclusive Golf. It is the blends of FIRE+ICE performance brand with the sporty ID.3 GTX as explained by the Tom Becker, director of BOGNER FIRE+ICE. He also added, “The special thing is that we were able to integrate many of out original material and accessories into the interior of the vehicle.”
Lets Jump Into the Details
From outside, the new ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE “stands out above all” with an exclusive 3-layer paint and glass bead effect. It also shares the most powerful electric motor, which is used in the ID.3 GTX Performance. It unable the Performance EV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds with up to 321 hp. Also there is a battery of 73 kWh which provides up to 373 mi (601 km) of WLTP range.
The EV comes with the Electric Violet pearl color, for giving tribute to the Golf Mk2 Fire and Ice, which has an exclusive dark violet pearl-effect paint finish. Further the exterior can change from dark blue to violet or even black as per the change in lighting, it is due to the special color effects.
To make look cool the VW’s one-off ID.3 GTX features geometric FIRE+ICE patterns in transparent matte. A 21-inches rims and the original FIRE+ICE badge form the 90s on the B-pillar with roof spoiler also added.
The interior of EV also get upgrades with a split color scheme. Volkswagen included a flaming red accent on the driver’s side seats and seams, while the passenger seats and interior has ice blue design elements.
