Here is another Tesla’s innovation. On Thursday night at an event at Warners Bros studio, Elon Musk has unveiled it’s new vehicle. However the name of the vehicle is not specify but Musk has referred it as both ‘Cybercab’ and ‘Robotaxi’ with the price tag of $30,000.
Tesla has officially launch the vehicles, but detailed about it is limited. There is not much information about the new vehicles insisted there is a very short web page on website and it refers to it as ‘Robotaxi’. The only information we get is through what is said and seen at the event.
Musk said that Tesla had 20 Cyebrcabs at the event. He also mentioned having “50 autonomous vehicles” at the event, but that number seemed to include Model Y vehicles.
Get some glimpse of The Cybercab:
The new vehicles in the line is appeared to have a gold finish with not rear window. It is a 2-seater with butterfly wing doors, no steering wheel or pedals. During event it seemed to have matrix headlights embedded into a front light bar similar to what is found on the Tesla Cybertruck.
However the Cybertruck is ready to receive a wireless charger, but it will be in future. Meanwhile the Cybercab will be the first Tesla vehicles that features wireless induction charging as standard.
Wireless charging has been around in consumer electric vehicles (EV) for a long time, but it never really took off. However, it is believed to become a more prominent feature with self-driving vehicles as it enables the vehicle to go charge itself without anyone having to plug it in.
Tesla hasn’t said much about the specs and other features of the new electric car. But Musk mentioned an estimated cost of operation of $0.20 a mile, which appears ambitious.
The CEO said that Tesla is aiming to sell the Robotaxi for less than $30,000. As for when it will enter production, Musk said it will come in 2026, but he did acknowledge that he is often wrong with his timeliness, and it could come in 2027 instead.
