Here is a great new EV buyers, as Volvo is ready to launch its two new electric SUVs as soon as possible. The two new electric vehicles include a three-row EX90 that is followed by the smaller or more affordable model of EX30.

There has been a delay in the launch of the new models in the U.S. market by Volvo. Volvo said the flagship EX90 model is scheduled to arrive in the market later this year, while the EX30 will join its sibling in the second half of 2025.

The launch of both SUVs plays a crucial role in the brand’s position in the US market. As per Cox Automotive, Volvo’s US electric vehicle sales fell by 72% in the first half of 2024 which includes 2,019 models of C40 and XC40 Recharge. On this note, Volvo Cars US President Michael Cottone believes that things will turn with it’s next-gen EVs rolling out.

At a media event this week Cottone said, “The EX90, Volvo’s three-row electric SUV is the first car that we will have launched and developed outside of Europe in our company’s almost 100-year history.” He also added that the flagship EV was designed for the U.S. market and then built in the U.S. market.

The EX90 is a seven-seat crossover that was launched as a gas-powered three-row SUV and was the top-selling vehicle in 2023. With the electric option, Cottone said, ”We are offering another car to another subset of consumers that we don’t have today.”

Volvo aims that the EV model of the EX90 will grab the attention of buyers. Also, one Volvo dealer said the EX90 has the XC90-like DNS, which “has become a classic like the Range Rover or Porche911.” He also adds the EX90 is the antithesis of the Tesla Model X.

Volvo said the first EX90 rolled off the production line in South Carolina in June ahead of delivery which is scheduled later this year. Initially, Volvo has announced the price of EX90 somewhere around $77,990. However, the U.S. increased tariffs on the electric SUV’s CATL-made battery caused the automaker to raise the price

Now the EX90 starts at $81,290 including the destination charger. And the 2025 schedule smaller and more affordable version EX30 model will start at $34,950..
