BYD has officially said that its new luxury electric sedan, the Denza Z9 will hit the market next month. The automaker has also released the first look of the interior of its new luxury EV before the officially debut schedule on November 15.
The news comes from the company’s head of brand sales, Zhao Changjian, who has confirmed that Denza would launch the Z9 at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show on November 15. The new electric car will follow the Denza Z9 GT, which opened pre-sales in August with the starting price tag of $47,700 (339,800 yuan).
Although the Denza Z9 retains the closed front grille design with split headlights and an exaggerated lower air intake. The coming new EV model boasts advanced features such as extreme steering, compass-like U-turns, and carb-walking capabilities. There is great news as the automaker has officially released images of the interior of its new Denza luxury EV on social media.
The new Denza Z9 closely resembles the Denza Z9 GT with a three-screen layout similar to other Denza models like the N7. The interior of the electric sedan includes a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and large control screens for both center vehicle and front passenger. It also features entertainment screens, fold-out tables, and leg rests for rear passengers. However the Denza Z9 has a different column-style gear selector from the Denza Z9 GT.
BYD’s new EV will be offered in all-electric and PHEV variants like the GT model and is expected to feature three electric motors packing nearly 1,000 hp (710 kW) combined. Diving deep the all electric model is equipped with three electric motors -one 230 kW motor and two 480 kW motors in the rear, for a total of 710 kW. Where the plug-in hybrid version has a combined motor power of 640 kW, with a 2.0T turbocharged engine providing 207 horsepower and offers a range of 1,100 km while the all-electric version offers a range of 630 km.
