VinFast has officially announced its first shipping of a new mini electric SUV, the VinFast VF3. Prices now start at around $12,800 (322 million VND). The company aims to deliver at least 20,000 VF 3 models this year as it ramps up production.
At the launching event in January VinFast said the new VF 3 mini electric SUV is designed to make city travel “not only sustainable but also more accessible.”
Finally after four months VinFast has opened the per-orders of the EV with a special introductory price of 275 million VND, or about $9,248. This is for the only battery subscription model. From Mar 13 to 15 VinFast has offered the VF 3 model with the battery for 315 million VND, or around $12,400.
According to VinFast, some VF 3 buyers already own a vehicle and are adding it as a second option. The first roll out of the EV will be in Vietnam, followed by the Philippines at the later month this year. The brand also announced the overseas market expansion including Europe, Southeast Asia, and the U.S. in 2025.
As we witness a new Vietnam automotive record that VinFast has secured 27,649 pre-orders within 66 hours. On this the brand has call the VF 3 a “Social media phenomenon in Vietnam,” topping the trends charts.
VinFast is aiming to see approx. 100,000 EVs this year to break it’s own sales target for 2024 to 80,000 models. Although the brand sold nearly 35,000 models last year, which is nearly half of the current aim.
