Hamilton police are investigating a significant vandalism incident at a Tesla dealership located at 999 Upper Wentworth Street. On March 19, 2025, officers responded to reports of damage and discovered that approximately 80 Tesla vehicles parked outdoors had sustained extensive harm, including deep scratches and punctured tires.

This event is part of a broader pattern of escalating hostility toward Tesla in Canada. In Montreal, two individuals were arrested following the vandalism of a Tesla dealership, where the building was spray-painted pink. The activist group Last Generation Canada claimed responsibility for the act, aligning it with their environmental protests against the fossil fuel industry.
Additionally, the Vancouver International Auto Show recently excluded company from participation, citing safety concerns due to potential protests and vandalism.
These incidents coincide with Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration as head of the Department of Government Efficiency. This association has sparked controversy and unrest among certain groups in Canada, leading to increased acts of vandalism against automakers properties.
In response to the rising number of attacks, Musk expressed his dismay, stating that Tesla is a peaceful company and labeling the acts as “deranged.” He suggested that there might be underlying mental health issues contributing to such extreme behaviors.
Hamilton police are currently reviewing CCTV footage related to the dealership vandalism and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in solving the crime.
