A joint venture between Baidu and Geely resulted in the creation of JiYue (Jidu) in 2021. This time the brand has introduced its new electric fastback the JiYue 07. The brand has recently won the 2023 German Red Dot and iF design awards for its sleek and futuristic design of JiYue series.
The brand debuted with its first EV, the JiYue 01 in October as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y. The electric SUV is the first consumer vehicle to feature Baidu’s full Apollo suite of Level 4 autonomous driving solutions.According to Chinese media as well as Car News China, the 07 is underpinned by the same SEA architecture used by a host of Geely vehicles, including the Volvo EX90, Volvo EX30, Polestar 4, Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr 007.
Gleey is a multinational auto company of China and is known as the parent company of Volvo, Polestar, ZEERk and others. In the venture Geely provides its manufacturing network, while Baidu is responsible for the software, ADAS, and connectivity.
Electric Sedan Jiyue 07, Rival Of Tesla Model 3 In China
Unveiling of the Jiyue 07, broadened the scope of the brand in the eclectic vehicle segment.Although the brand hasn’t revealed much of the information about the upcoming model but it is said that JiYue 07 will rival the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Han in China as a “7 series” model.
The 07 is based on the Jidu Robo-02 concept that debuted last year. It offers a good concept’s design with strong wheel arches and a low-riding silhouette sleek EV fastback. A single photo offered by the Jiyue offered a glimpse of the EV’s impressive interior. Packed with a massive, continuous central-mounted screen and minimalist design elements.
You will see Y shaped-headlights at the up front of the EV. Also a large glass roof and a single taillight bar at the rear identical it with the brand’s first model.
The upcoming models come with two battery options: 71.4kWh that provides up to 550 km(342 miles) and 100 kWh that runs for 720 km (447 miles) CLTC range. Like the previous one the entry-level 07 has a 268 hp electric motor and a 71.4 kWh battery pack while the flagship model will launch with a dual-motor setup with 536 hp and fed by a 100 kWh pack.
