In the growing electric vehicles market Genesis is ready to bring its flagship Genesis GV90, set to shake up the ultra-luxury market. The automaker has gain a significant place in the market as an independent luxury brand form its parent company Hyundai.

The Genesis GV90 will be the fourth model of the brand after its all-electric vehicles: the GV60, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70 SUV. It is exiting to get te close look of the larger electric SUV ahead of its official debut. The EV was spotted in South Korea for the first time,  revealing its “massive” size.

Genesis first introduced the new SUV with the unveiling of the Neolun concept last March. The larger model boasts a sleek, “reductive” design, highlighted by its signature two-tone headlamps and prominent Crest grille at the front. Adding to its luxury appeal, the premium SUV also features coach doors, reminiscent of the elegance seen in Rolls-Royce models.

Let Have Closer Look at the Genesis GV90

Before its official launch, the Genesis GV90 was spotted for the first time on a carrier in South Korea. Photos shared by Namcha Cafe (via MotorsJason) show the test vehicle, which is believed to be the upcoming Genesis model.

The GV90 will be the first vehicle of the brand underpinned by Hyundai’s next-gen “eM” platform. This platform is expected to sifnificently cut costs with a modular design compared to its current E-GMP, which powers all IONIQ models and Kia EVs and Genesis GV60.

Even with the camouflage, the SUV’s enormous size is evident in its shape, with the wheels appearing notably large at approximately 22 inches.

Genesis plans to position this flagship electric SUV as a tech showcase as Hyundai moves towards higher-end models. The interior will be equipped with the latest technology and software, highlighted by a 24.6-inch infotainment screen.

In November, TheKoreanCarBlog reported that the first GV90 prototypes were spotted near Hyundai’s R&D center in Korea. Now, production models have finally been seen out in public.

It is expected that the brand will launch two trims: Standard and Exclusive. The base model is expected to start at around 100 million won, or around $80,000. Meanwhile, the Exclusive trim, whci will retain features like coach doors, could coust upwards of 200 million yuan, or around $160,000. The premium version will be limited to just a few models.

The Genesis GV90 is set to be unveiled later this year, with mass production slated to begin in early 2026 at Hyundai’s Ulsan EV plant in Korea.

Would you consider purchasing the ultra-luxury Genesis GV90 for about $80,000? Or would you choose the Exclusive trim with coach doors for around $160,000? Share your thoughts in the comments.
