In recent years, Ducati has expanded its reach beyond motorcycles and venturing into the electric bicycle market with a notable lineup of e-bikes. Among these, Ducati’s recent launch Futa electric bike is an all Road electric gravel bike that stands out as a versatile option for both commuting and adventurous off-road cycling.
Design and Build
The Ducati Futa All Road is crafted with a carbon fiber monocoque frame, which not only ensures durability. Ducati says that the Futa frame is aimed at prioritising aerodynamics but also keeps the weight impressively low at 12.4 kilograms (27 pounds) for the medium size. This lightweight construction is crucial for performance, allowing the bike to maintain agility and ease of handling across various terrains.
Performance and Technical Specifications
The heart of the Futa All Road is the FSA System HM 1.0, which is a compact electric motor located in the rear hub. This motor provides 250 watts of power and 42 Nm of torque, delivering smooth and natural pedal assistance ideal for both city commutes and gravel trails. The e-bikes integrated a 250-watt-hour battery that ensured decent range, Rides also had the option to add a 250-watt-hour range extender for longer rides.
Ducati’s focus on endurance and performance is further highlighted by the bike’s endurance sports geometry, which offers a comfortable and efficient riding posture. The bike is equipped with an electronic 2×12 SRAM Rival eTap AXS groupset, featuring hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power and precise gear shifts. The hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors ensure safe and controlled braking under various conditions.
Features and Accessories
One of the standout features of the Futa All Road is its adaptability for bikepacking adventures. Ducati includes a set of three waterproof Skuad bags for the saddle, handlebar, and frame, making it ready for extended journeys right out of the box. This feature underscores Ducati’s commitment to offering not just an electric bike, but a comprehensive solution for adventure cyclists.
