Increasing the market of EV also raises the demand for charging infrastructure. To cope up with it Rivian has come up with it’s latest solution which is beyond just changing. Here you will not only charge your electric vehicles but get refreshed before going back to your adventures.
It is a first-of-its-kind of experiment by Rivian that you will find on the way to your next trip to the Yosemite National Park. Where you fill, take a stop at Rivian’s new EV Charging Outpost.
For making a charging outpost, Rivian has converted an abandoned gas station to the futuristic charging site. This features a lounge area for relaxation with a complimentary onsite library to read books, or browse through merchandise. Here you can also make your own trail mix, free coffee and a pet friendly spot with a drinking facility.
As per Rivian’s senior director of environments, the site goes beyond your average gas station or highway stop. It includes five DC fast chargers and restrooms open for 24/7. He also explained we want people to feel really good about the experience and for it to add to their journey.
To make the visitors experience well and good it is decorated with several native plants and gaming space that will also promote sustainability.
Denise Cherry, VP of Experience Design at Rivian said, “Every Charging Outpost we create will be near incredibly beautiful and inspiring destinations. He also added, “ when thinking about the future of travel and road infrastructure, we see charging Outposts becoming super ubiquitous.”
The Rivian Yosemite Charging Outpost is open for the public from 7 AM to 7 PM but the restrooms and chargers facility will be open day and night. Rivian says the site is the first of brands to open multiple Charging Outposts.
Brand has already transformed several historical sites and choosing this one is also strategic. As it is one of the high-traffic routes of the US. The opening of the new charging Outpost is the latest development as Rivian builds out its network. Rivian is focusing on uptime and reliability by making plans to open the network to other automakers.
