Acura launched the ZDX crossover last summer at the Monterey Car Week as the first all-electric offering from the Honda luxury and performance sub-brand with lab partner General Motors. The crossover consists of– A-Spec version with single and dual-motor powertrain options and Type S with dual-motor. Now after a long gap Acura has finally come back with its 2024 Acura ZDX Type S.
Each ZDX variant features GM’s modular Ultium Platform that supplies a battery with 102.0 Kw of usable capacity. It will work both in rear and all wheel drive powertrains. Along with that the ZDX Type S offers an adaptive air suspension and six-piston front brake. Result of that the EV will offer 544 pound-feet of torque that is more than the hybrid NSX supercar.
Looking at the design the ZDX Type S has “Jewel Eye” LED headlights and metallic grey runners along the wheelbase. Metal sports pedals were fitted in EV to give it a sporty touch.
Key Specs, Features and Performance
The Acura ZDX S-Type comes with four different driving modes like :- Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow. All versions of Acura ZDX features Gm’s Super Cruise hands-free driving tech, automated parking assist, a digital rearview mirror, a hand-up display, heated rear seats, a third climate zone with rear HVAC controls.
The A-Spec will be the volume seller, but unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to drive one. That’s a pity, because the 490-hp AWD model strikes us as the sweet spot in the ZDX lineup. We’d probably also be less disappointed with how it drives, compared to our higher expectations for anything with a Type S badge. In addition, the A-Spec AWD offers an extra 26 miles of EPA-estimated driving range (304 versus the Type S’s 278). Every ZDX has a 11.5-kW onboard charger and a DC fast-charging rate that peaks at a decent-but-not-mind-blowing 190 kilowatts, which Acura reckons is good for a 20 to 80 percent juice-up in 42 minutes.
says Acura
Acura has made the interior of the crossover roomy and comfortable. Looking into it you find there are also two digital displays – an 11-inch “Digital Gauge cluster” and an 11.3-inch center screen with built-in Google, a Bang & Olufsen audio system with 18 speakers. I
