The GMC Sierra EV, the brand’s third electric truck following the Hummer EV and Hummer SUV, debuted as a $100,000 2024 model. For 2025, GMC has introduced modest upgrades to enhance its performance and features.
The GMC Sierra EV Denali shares the same platform as the Chevy Silverado and to a lesser extent the GMC Hummer. The key feature is the industry-leading 204+kWh battery pack. This offers 50% more than most of the competition, making these one of the leading vehicles when it comes to towing heavy stuff long distance without having to recharge often. It also has the ability to use Super Cruise while trailering, Active Air suspension, 4-wheel steering and the Sierra EV is your trailering EV king.
Key Features and Enhancements:
- Performance: The 2025 Sierra EV Denali offers up to 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Max Power mode, enabling 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 4.5 seconds.
- Range: The Extended Range version provides an estimated 390 miles, while the Max Range version offers up to 460 miles on a full charge.
- Charging: Equipped with 800-volt DC fast-charging capabilities, the Sierra EV can gain up to 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes.
- Interior and Technology: The Denali trim features a luxurious interior with premium materials, a 16.8-inch diagonal center touchscreen, and advanced driver-assistance technologies, including Super Cruise.
The new 2025 The Sierra EV Denali model has a boosting range of 460-mile range up from 440 miles in the 2024 model. It features the same battery pack with more efficient motors and software this time around. There is also a 390-mile “Extended Range” variety for $92K.
It is expected that the Sierra EV AT4 and Elevation are to be available the first half of 2025, pricing will be announced closer to launch.
The tailor from the company shows that it still ranges over 200+ miles or around 3 hours of driving time. The Sierra EV Denali will also use all of those 350+kW charging station and can add miles as fast as 100 miles in 10 minutes.
Charging speeds have exceeded 360 kW, which, when considering a 200 kWh battery pack, translates to roughly 180 kW for each 100 kWh sub-pack—quite fast. Charging from 10% to 80% takes around 45 minutes, adding 322 miles of range, all within the time it takes for a quick bathroom or food stop.
It is expected that the price range of Denali Extended starts at$91,995 or Denali Max starts at $100,495. Automaker said production of the 2025 Sierra EV Denali is underway, with deliveries expected to commence soon. GMC plans to expand the lineup with Elevation and AT4 models in the first half of 2025, offering customers greater choice and rugged off-road capability.
