It’s great news for you if you are thinking of buying a Kia EV9. The recent announcement by Electrify America and Kia America to offer a generous first 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of charging a complimentary. Customers can charge its EV9 at any Electrify America charging station nationwide, using the Electrify America’s App.

In the announcement Kia said, “With the launch of the all-new Kia EV9, we are expanding this complimentary charging with Electrify America to inspire more individuals to embrace publicly available EV charging technology. Kia further added that, “ The EV9’s standard 800V electrical architecture enables hyper-fast DC charging.”

Here it is also essential to take note that only offering free charging is not a single option for the buyers. But the great feature offered by the EV9, Kia’s naive step into the realm of all electric three row SUVs. The EV9 comes in rear- or all- wheel drive, with the latter featuring a 379-hp dual-motor powertrain. The standard variant will come with a rear-wheel drive motor generating 160 kW (215hp) paired with a 76.1-kWh battery.  However, a more powerful version is also offered by Kia, you can add an additional 99.8-kWh battery with either 201hp, single motor setup and an EPA-estimated range of 304 miles or dual motor, all- wheel-drive setup offers 379-hp.

Also the president and CEO of Electrify America, Robert Barrosa said that, “Our agreement with Kia America highlights our commitment to a more accessible future for electric vehicle (EV) transportation. He also said that “We’re excited to provide DC fast charging on our coast-to-coast network for the 2024 Kia EV9 and driving the switch to zero-emission vehicles forward.”

Further in the announcement Kia also said that the complimentary 1,000 kWh charging will be utilized by the owner in the first three years of the purchase. Owner have to use the company’s mobile app to take the advantage.

This free charging is not only helping the company to tap the untapped market of the U.S. But it also helps people to feel more comfortable to adopt the electric vehicle. This further gives them the taste of how the EV is working. They get the chance to experience driving an electric car that can open the door of electric vehicles adoption for new ones.
