Volvo has announced that brand is ready to reveal it’s hybrid version of XC90 om September 4 this year. The coming hybrid EV will be a substantially refreshed version of It’s traditional gasoline. The announcement comes as the Swedish automaker is going through a significant strategic overhaul amid uneven EV demand in the U.S. and rising hybrid sales.
Volvo also shared a teaser which has not reveled to much about the vehicles. It consists a all-electric three-row EX90 and the updated XC90 parked facing each other. However the automakers has delayed it’s highly-anticipated EX30 hatchback to 2025 for the U.S. because of the high traffic charges on Chinese-made cars.
This car is already running in the European road and is highly anticipated in the U.S. Also in the first half of 2024 it was the third best-selling EV on the continent after Tesla Model Y and Model3. With the hybrid update Volvo is aiming to boost their global hybrid plug-in sales which is already increased by nearly 45% in the same time frame.
The arrival of refresh XC90 in U.S. help Volvo to achieve their two goal such to keep the pace with the rising demand for hybrid and also boost its overall U.S. sales, which have ranked by 28.1% in H1 compared to the same period last year.
In the recent time Volvo has already offers two fully electric models for U.S. market that is C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge. Both EV has not get the desired output in the market. However the automaker’s PHEVs outsold fully electric models by a ratio of nine to one in the second quarter of this year.
There are plenty of plug-in hybrid options by Volvo in the U.S. market including XC90, XC60, XC60, S90, S60 and V60, which are selling better than their EV only siblings.
