EV is getting a new addition in their available options and technology. To match the pace with surging BYD, Tesla and other EV automakers, Toyota is launching its brand new all-electric crossover. The new EV gets the name Toyota bZ3C. It looks like the new Prius, but sad to say that the new electric SUV crossover won’t be available in the U.S.
While answering a question during a press conference last month, Toyota’s Executive Vice President and CTO Hiroki Nakakima was asked,” What kind of BED would bring smiles to the faces of our Chinese Customers?’
Toyota debuted its new bZ3C- as part of its “multi-pathway approach” to make mobility more environmentally friendly at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. The electric car has been developed by Toyota with BYD Toyota EV Tech, FAW Toyota Motor, and Intelligent Electromobility R&D Center by Toyota.
Toyota has already had a joint venture between BYD and Toyota as BYD Toyota EV Tech, that already launched the co-developed bZ3 electric sedan in China. However the bZ3C appears to be a slightly bigger SUV crossover.
Toyota has designed the bZ3C EV as a fun, spacious EV around the concept of “reboot.” The brand says the distinctive styled EV focuses on features to create a fun personal space for younger Gen Z buyers.
Toyota said that the concept’s interior of the bZ3C is based on a mobile “Cozy Home.” Also the bZ3C was unveiled alongside the bZ3x, an all-electric “family-oriented” electric SUV.
Toyota also confirmed that both models will feature the brand’s latest driver-assist systems and smart cockpits. Although Toyota has not revealed the prices and final specs of the EVs, that will be revealed closer to launch. However, Toyota is expected to begin selling both new electric cars in China within the next year.
