Tesla has significantly increased its referral rewards program, offering a $2,000 discount on new electric vehicle purchases in the US, including the much-anticipated Cybertruck.
Tesla ended its referral program in April, after it became much less popular under its latest “point system” that could be redeemed for only limited features and products.
Also the referral program was revamped in August, shifting away from its previous points-based system to a simpler model that provides direct discounts for buyers and Tesla credits for referrers. This recent boost is the first since the program’s relaunch and applies to Tesla’s entire lineup in the US.
Buyers can now save $2,000, with the Cybertruck’s starting price effectively dropping to $78,000.
In Canada, the discount has been raised to $2,600 CAD but is limited to the Model Y, Model S, and Model X. The Model 3 and Cybertruck are excluded, likely reflecting strong demand for the Model 3 and the Cybertruck’s recent introduction to the Canadian market.
Globally, Tesla is employing various incentives to drive record deliveries this quarter. In Europe, these include a year of free Supercharging and substantial discounts on inventory vehicles.
In the US, Tesla is offering inventory discounts, three months of free Supercharging and Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscriptions, FSD transfer options, reduced lease rates for the base Model Y, and discounted home charging solutions under Tesla Electric. Additionally, Tesla is subsidizing loans with lower interest rates in multiple markets, making EV ownership more accessible.
These efforts underscore Tesla’s aggressive push to maintain its market leadership and hit delivery milestones as the year ends.
