The record-setting event was held at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, with Carl Saville, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, overseeing the attempt. Porsche designed a 59-meter-diameter drift circle specifically for the challenge, equipping the Taycan with a GPS device to ensure precise measurement.
Managing Director f the Porsche Arctic Center, Christian Lehwald boasted,
With the new Taycan GTS, we have one of the most powerful electric vehicles on the market. So we were pretty confident that we could brake the world record.
This record follows Porsche’s launch of the upgraded Taycan last February, featuring an extended driving range, faster charging, and enhanced performance. The new Taycan Turbo GT, now the fastest road-legal Porsche, delivers up to 1,092 hp and, with the Weissach Package, can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds.
