Hyundai and Kia have recently tied up with the Korean mobile brand Samsung to save it’s users time and money. A new agreement among the brands reveals that Hyundai and Kia will use Samsung’s “SmartThing ” Internet of Things platform in their connected car services. This new technical upgrade in Hyundai’s electric vehicles makes it able to control home devices like lights, air conditioning from your car vise versa you can adjust your vehicle charging times and temperature.
On Wednesday, Hyundai and Kia announced it’s strategic partnership with Samsung. With this now South Korean automakers spread its foot in the new digital, electric era.
In this deal, customers will be able to manage their remotely laid digital appliances through their electric vehicle ‘s provided infotainment system. However you can also supervise your vehicle’s various functions through AI speakers, TVs and apps on your phone. Hyundai aims to link its connected car services with Samsung’s SmartThings platform that make you connected at all times.
Hyundai describes it with an example – you can activate “Home Mode” on a hot day while on your way home from work to turn on the air, start a vacuum, and turn on the lights. Also you can use “Away Mode” as you leave to turn off the lights and pre-activate your vehicle’s air conditioning.
Kia and Hyundai also said they will update their infotainment system while providing upgraded features through OTA updates. That also includes updates in USB in already running vehicles. Samsung’s SmartThing integrated home energy management service makes EV owners capable of checking their car and home energy use with control charging times for excellent rates.

With this new partnership, Hyundai and Kia is aiming to expand its electric vehicle reach overseas that will come with a broad range of supported devices and lots of new features.
