NIO has come with it’s Onvo L60 electric SUV, as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y. The new EV has just rolled off the assembly line and it is expected that NIO will officially lunch the electric SUV next month.
NIO has just unveiled the interior of the EV for the first time, as the production kicks off at the F2 plant in China. CEO William LI said the new EV will complete with mass-market models like the Toyota RAV and Tesla’s Model Y.
The electric SUV will surpass the Model Y in China with it’s impressive pre-selling prices which starts at $30,000, where Tesla Model Y price around $34,600. The price is for base RWD model with up to 344 miles (554 km) CLTC range.
NIO also said that it is one of the most affordable model of brand offers up to 341 miles (55 km) of estimated CLTC range. IT also said the new electric SUV also set’s a new standard for family cars.
The brand has compared the Onvo L60 with Tesla’s Model Y, claiming it has batter energy consumption such as 12.1 kWh/100km against 12.5 kWh/100 mm under the same conditions.
The interior of the NIO’s Onvo L60 looks similar to the Tesla’s Model Y such as the size of EV is 4,828 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,616 mm tall like the Model Y’s 4,750 mm long, 1,921 mm wide and 1,624 mm tall. Other setup will also give you the similar, however it features a minimalist “Urban Oasis AI Smart Cockpit”.
Interior includes a 17.2 inches display screen with a picture of the vehicle on the left, maps on the lefts a music widget in the lower left corner, and various buttons across the bottom like Tesla. But NIO also added a 8-inches screen for second-row passengers.
