The JAC, NIO’s former manufacturer, is set to debut its Hunter EV pickup at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Till now JAC has helped NIO to build its electric vehicles, but this time JAC looks ready to try its own luck. The upcoming pickup positioning itself as an option for those who rely on their vehicles for work and daily activities.
Reported by China news outlet Autohome, the electric truck will be built on JAC’s new wide-body pickup platform. The Hunter EV pickup truck is expected to feature CLTC cruising range of over 310 miles (500 km).
Let’s Look Into The Hunter EV Pickup
The Hunter EV has gone to significant modifications in its frontal design. Now this pickup comes with some distinct look like enclosed grille, mech-warrior-style face, flowing turn signals and segmented headlights. Also 5.62 m long, 1.97 m wide and 1.92 m tall body frame makes its size the same as the Toyota Tacoma. Further an extra long approx. 1.81 m cargo bed is also featured in the electric pickup. To make Hunter roll on any terrain a 205 mm ground clearance is also provided.
For power the pickup features a dual-motor setup that boasts a combined output of 70/160 kW and peak torque of 176/342 Nm for the front and rear motors, respectively. Also a 88.02 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack that delivers an estimated range of 500 km is provided, which makes the JAC Hunter EV pickup as a potentially favorable electric pickup in the growing market.
To make it technically powerful, The Hunter EV is equipped with the intelligent InCar 3.0 system, vice control, dual-mode navigation, over-the-air updates, wireless fast charging, 220 V power supply, electric seats, automatic climate control and ambient lighting.
The interior includes a T-shaped structure that creates a seamless spacious driving space. Further camel-gray brushed trim panels and piano lacquer-finished air vents set the vehicle apart from your everyday truck. Also a 7-inch LCD screen instrument cluster is offering two UI skins-Eastern Dragon and Arctic Blue Light.
