At the floor of CES 2024, Mercedes-Benz revealed its upcoming cars equipped with the new AI system MB.OS end-to-end software. This MBUX Virtual Assistant operating system will debut in the upcoming new-gen CLA and on future Mercedes models built on the new MMA architecture.
The brand claims that this MB.OS is distinct from the current MBUX. A three-pointed star fitted in the upcoming car is a new AI voice-controller that changes its colors and animations depending how the driver interacts with it. The brand has said that they give it AI a human- or human-like avatar.
Markus Schafer, Member of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Chief Technology Officer said. “With our MB.OS, world-class collaborations and the latest development in generative AI, we are transforming the relationship our customers have with their Mercedes-Benz. Our digital advances on show at CES 2024 are proof points on our journey towards the hyper-personalized Mercedes–Benz user experience.”
The AI software comes with four different emotions and is in tune with customer needs. It uses generative AI and proactive intelligence to make customer life easy, convenient and comfortable. Also advanced 3D game-engine graphics, MBUX Surround Navigation is also provided which seamlessly guide the driver regarding route and other activities.
With this AI Mercedes-Benz is bringing more personalization, convenience and productivity into the car with its ongoing expansion of app portfolio. These include MBUX Collectibles, Mercedes-Benz’s first in-car app to showcase NFTs like the limited-edition Mercedes-Benz NXT Superdackel collection.
