To continue it’s commitment for sustainable transportation Mercedes-Benz has announced a new agreement to make it the first DC fast-charging network to deploy Alpitonic America, Inc. ‘s HYC 400 at scale in the U.S. In this line the German automakers had an agreement with European EV charger developer Alpitronic to deploy technology from Europe to North America.

Mercedes-Benz not only developing it’s own line of home chargers, but also it begun to implementing a global EV charging network for the public, which currently consists of 100,000 piles of the ES alone. It opens it;s first branded Charging Hub in North America near its US headquarters outside Atlanta as a part of $1 billion joint venture.
The recent agreement with Alpitronic for Hypercharge 400 piles offers up to 400kW charging and support for a wide output voltage range. It is said that they can also charge two EVs simultaneously at the rate up to 200kW. Currently Alpitronic offers chagrin port standards to EV owners, including CCS 1 and CC2, but Mercedes states that the EV chargers it will roll out in the US will also offer NACS cables.
Mercede’s is also helping Alpitronic in their commitment of creating new jobs and expanding EV charger infrastructures stateside. Mercedes also said the HYC 400 chargers will be built at a local facility in Wisconsiz.

As of now there are not many details but Mercedes-Benz said the first Alpitronic EV charges are expected to reach the brand charging site in Q3 2024.
