Less than a week after unveiling the EV4, Kia is already teasing its high-performance GT variant. Expected to be one of the most affordable electric sports cars, the EV4 GT could also be Kia’s most powerful vehicle yet. But how will it compare to the Tesla Model 3 Performance?

The EV4 marks Kia’s entry into the electric sedan and hatchback market. During its recent EV Day, Kia showcased four EV4 trims—two sedan and two hatchback models, each available in standard and GT-Line versions. Now, we’re getting a first glimpse of the high-performance GT variant.
When the EV6 GT launched in 2022, it became Kia’s most powerful production vehicle, delivering 576 hp and a 0-60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds—faster than some Ferraris and Lamborghinis, all for just over $60,000. The EV4 GT is expected to follow in its footsteps, offering even more power at a lower price.
Recently spotted testing in Korea, the EV4 GT appears to share a design similar to the GT-Line trim but features sportier 20″ wheels. The interior will include Kia’s new ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) with dual 12.3″ driver display and infotainment screens, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Performance-wise, the EV4 GT is expected to feature a dual-motor AWD powertrain, with exact specs to be revealed closer to launch. If it follows the EV6 GT’s improvements—like 641 hp, redesigned bumpers, suede-trimmed sport seats, and a heat pump—it could be a serious contender in the EV sports car market. Additionally, it may include Kia’s Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) for a simulated sports car driving experience, similar to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N.

Pricing is still under wraps, but the EV4 GT is likely to fall between $50,000 and $55,000, making it significantly more affordable than most sports cars. The standard EV4 is expected to launch later this year, starting between $35,000 and $40,000.
For comparison, the Tesla Model 3 Performance AWD starts at $54,990, delivering 510 hp and a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds.
