The long waited period of Jeep fans to ride a Electric Jeep has not going to end. Jeep has officially conformed that the brand globally available model is going to electric. Jeep has teased the upcoming electric Jeep Compass EV for the first time in its latest design sketch.
Data from the current year reveals that Jeep is the third best-selling vehicles in the US this year after the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. It is also one of the top-selling model in its segment in Europe. Now the electric compass is going to be the Jeep’s another competitor in its segments.
The first look of the electric compass SUV is revels by Jeep in it’s latest design sketch on Monday. It revels that the electric Compass will be go the line of brand’s traditional design like the first global electric SUV. But for sure the Compass EV comes with some added elements as the brands looks for a revival.
It is expected that EV will has brand’s new signature elements like an illuminated grille and more aerodynamic design. This new EV will be made in Melfi, Italy from the next year and the production will expand to North America and over the world in 2026.
The Compass electric SUV will be built on the STLA Medium platform, like the Peugeot E-3008. Jeep also said that the next-gen Compass will be available in various configuration like fully eclectic, hybrid and gas-powered options. It is the part of brands “Freedom of Choice” strategy.
Stellentis claims that the STLA Medium platform offers over 435 miles (700 km) of WLTP range, for the performance pack. However the Standard pack is boost with over 310 miles (500 km) of WLTP range. As it is seen in Peugeot’s electric E-3008 that gets up to 326 miles with the standard 73 kWh battery. For a larger battery model of 98 kWh it goes up to 422 miles of WLTP range.
According to Cholmondeley, Jeep will officially unveil the electric Compass next month. The Compass will be slotted above the brand’s first EV in Europe, the Avenger.
Jeep has constantly working in the expansion of market in the electric segment. After the recent launch of Wagoneer S, Jeep is looking for the launch of Wrangler-inspired Recon EV. This is a rugged electric SUV was spotted in transit last month, suggestion close launch. And the launch of Electric Compass in this plot is expected to accelerate the brand presence as the rugged SUV maker.
