Hyundai is already making its presence in the global EV market with its current IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The launching of another electric lineup further added the new feathers in the brand. As Hyundai has expected to unveil the IONIQ 9 this June.
As Hyundai’s first three-row electric SUV debuted as the SEVEN concept at the 2021 LA Auto Show, suggesting it would g by IONIQ7. However sources suggest that Hyundai’s first three-row electric SUV will go by the IONIQ 9. But there are more details that need to be shared on the next IONIQ model closer to launch.
An eye-catching glimpse of the Hyundai IONIQ 9 was spotted with heavy camouflage a few months ago sitting next to Kia’s three-row electric SUV, the EV9. The IONIQ 9 appeared “fuller” up front with a noticeably lower A-pillar. Hyundai’s electric SUV seemed more sloped and less boxy than the EV9.
It is expected that like EV9, IONIQ 9 will also use Hyundai Group’s E-GMP architecture that gives EV a flat floor to provide a flexible and spacious cabin and 800V fast-charging tech. Where Hyundai has not announced the range for the IONIQ 9. But the brand said the Seven Concept would offer more than 300 miles of range.
Also for power outputs there are no specific details provided by Hyundai for the IONIQ 9. But it is speculated that top-spec dual-motor Kia EV9 packs 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, enough for the Kia EV9 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds.
Company has not announced pricing for the IONIQ 9 yet but we don’t expect a dynamic change in that from the Kia EV9. That SUV starts at $54,900 MSRP and tops out at $ 73,900 for the GT-Line AWD trim. That would make it the most expensive vehicle in the Hyundai lineup. Further there is no announced timeline for IONIQ 9 but Hyundai confirmed to Automotive News that the new SUV will not debut at the New York Auto Show in April.
