GM’s joint venture with SAIC, Wuling, launched its affordable EV 2024 Bingo EV on Friday with the aim to compete with BYD’s popular Seagull EV. The coming EV is an new low-cost electric car with the starting price tag of $8,000 compare to the Seagull’s $9,700.
New Bingo Offers Competitive Pricing and Range
The New 2024 Bingo EV will come in four variants:- Lingxi connected, and Lingxi Premium that offers ranges form 126 miles (302 km) to 255 miles(410 km) as per CLTC estimates. The size of 2024 model is same as the 2023 model such as (3,950 mm long, 1,708 mm wide, and 1,580 mm tall).with the several updates. Otner upgraded features of the 2024 Bingo EV includes fast DC chagrin that change all trims from 30 % to 880% in just 35 minutes that was not included in the 2023 standard range (203 km) model.
Also the interior of the EV remains the same such as a 10.25-inches dual-screen system and offers 1,240 liters of storage with seats down. Whereas the HIgher trims feature the Ling OS Lingxi car system with entertainment apps.Meanwhile the longer range model features a three-in-one water-cooled flat wire motor for improved cooling efficiency.
The launch of the Bingo EV is a strategic move of the brand to capture the growing demand for the affordable electric vehicles segment in China. Since its debut in March, the Bingo has already sold over 280,000 units, positioning it as a strong competitor to BYD’s Seagull, which sold nearly 35,000 units in May alone.
With the competitive pricing, upgraded features, and strong market presence of the BIngo EV is well-positioned to challenge BYD’s Seagull.
