Genesis is a Korean automaker known for its luxury and performance oriented EVs. This time also the brand is looking to bring a new hybrid model to the market as soon as possible. It has recently revealed its plan to launch a new hybrid vehicle for “as many models as possible”.
Hyundai luxury brand Genesis’s global boss Mike Song said,” Five years back we anticipated that the EV era would arrive very quickly, and we really wanted to be a leader and a disruptor in the EV space.” Also the data of the Genesis EV sales revealed, the brand’s great achievement in all key markets are very promising.
According to UK publication Top Gear, Genesis officials at the 2024 Goodwood of Festival of Speed, Who confirmed more electrified powertrains are on the way for the Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus rival brand. To complement it Genesis is offering more choices to customers with its Hybrid vehicles.
Also at the event, Goodwood FOS brand’s director of vehicle development, Tyrone Johnson said, “Customers now want hybrids more than EV, so we really want to bring Genesis hybrids into the market as soon as possible.” That also confirms Genesis plans to launch hybrids in near future.
Genesis has overachieved in key markets including Europe, Australia and others, according to Genesis vehicle development boss. But Johnson also explained, “We’re constantly reassessing what it is that we’re doing and sometimes you need to make slight adjustments.”
But it is unclear, will Genesis introduce conventional hybrid or plug-in hybrid models and will these powertrains be borrowed from its parent company Hyundai to speed up their arrival.
