Genesis, a renowned luxury automaker, revealed the new Electrified G80 at the Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS) on Thursday. The updated Genesis G80 will feature a new bigger battery that added more range and other new updates.
This is a significant update of the Genesis Electrided G80, since it;s debut three years ago. As a brand’s first luxury EV that competes against models like Tesla Model S.
Genesis has introduced its updated model in Korea that gives a glimpse of updated features. The exterior of the updated Electrifies G80 features new 19-inch wheels complemented with Genesis’s iconic parabolic lines, a three-dimensional crest grille up front, and Multi-Layer Array (MLA) technology that has been added to its signature two-line headlamps.
The bumper has been slightly redesigned, with a longer wheelbase, the updated G80 includes more space in the second row of the EV.
Other significant changes are a single 27-inch display comprising both a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital gauge cluster. A Easyclose system for closing the doors, executive-style rear seats with leg rests, a rear-window curtain, mood lamps for brightness and an Bang & Olufsen sound system for premium level sound.
The updated EV is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that will deliver up to 365 hp. Also an enlarged electric battery pack from 87.2-kWh to 95.4-kWh is featured in updated Genesis Electrified G80, which allows the EV to go up to 295 miles (475 km) as per Korean standard. But in the U.S. it will likely add a few miles to its current EPA-estimated 282-miles range.
However, the brand has not revealed much details but it is expected that the luxury sedans will come with a higher price tag. Genesis is planning to launch the new Electrified G80 in Korea in August. Further Genesis has confirmed that the updated Electrified G80 will be available for the 2026 model year in the U.S.
Genesis also introduced it’s another innovation X Gran Racer Gran Turismo, a concept hypercar with track use in mind from the Busan Auto Show.
