Genesis previewed the Genesis GV90 last March after unveiling the Neolun concept. On the event Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donkerwolke said, “It’s the epitome of timeless design and sophisticated craftsmanship.”

The name “Neolun” is derived from the Greek word “Neo,” meaning new, and the Latin word “Luna,” meaning moon. According to Genesis, “the name symbolizes its commitment to technical innovation that surpasses conventional standards and embodies the brand’s vision for the future.”

The automaker has also included a “reductive”, minimalistic design to the electric car that is inspired by Korea’s moon-shaped porcelain jars. The most stand-out feature was the included coach doors, given the electric SUV a Rolls Royce-like feel.

By eliminating the B-pillars, the interior becomes more spacious and open. Genesis claims that B-pillarless coach doors are now a viable option for production vehicles. While the Genesis GV90 has been spotted multiple times ahead of its official debut, the latest sighting provides a clearer view of its design with minimal camouflage.

There is a new video from MediaAuto, the Genesis GV90 design stays close the concept. From the first look, you can already see the flagship electric SUV’s massive size compared to what appears to be the GV60 model in front of it.

The coming SUV still features the two-line headlamps shaped into the signature Genesis Crest grille. However, there are a few difference. For starters, the production model features a separate trunk, and its roof rack can fold away when not in use. Additionally, the wheels appear slightly smaller at around 22″, whereas the concept version had 24″ wheels.

You might notice that the coach doors are missing from this model, but don’t worry—it’s likely a different variant of the Genesis GV90. Genesis is expected to offer at least two trims: Standard and Exclusive.

The model featured in the video is probably the standard version. The Exclusive variant is rumored to retain the coach doors and other ultra-luxury design elements, and it’s expected to start at around 200 million won ($160,000), with limited availability.

Genesis is expected to officially reveal the GV90 later this year, with mass production slated to begin in early 2026. Hyundai will manufacture the new flagship electric SUV at its Ulsan plant in South Korea. This will be the first EV built on Hyundai’s next-gen eM platform, which is set to replace the current E-GMP.
