Are you ready for the Electric Genesis G70? The brand has currently offered three fully electric vehicles (EVs): the GV60, the Electrified GV70 SUV, and the Electrified G80 sedan. Top of that the all EVs has recently get significant updates, including a longer driving range, a refined interior and exterior design with other luxury features.
In this row the brand has also planning to do something more to keep pace with growing EV market. On this note as per Korea’s MotorJason, the luxury sports sedan will be completely redesigned. The report also said the next-gen Genesis G70 will be exclusively sold as an EV model.
After the Kia Stinger GT1 EV project faced delays, its launch has now been officially confirmed. Meanwhile, focus has turned to its sibling, the Genesis G70. Although reports suggested the G70 was being discontinued and plans for a hybrid were abandoned, Genesis may revive it as an EV to appeal to younger buyers.
Genesis G70 EV Features and Specs
The electric G70 might even get a Magma performance variant. According to the company’s product planning director, the G70 plays a key role in attracting younger buyers to the Genesis brand. He mentioned that discussions about the model’s future are ongoing at a global level, emphasizing that there’s still hope for it.
It is expected that the 2025 Genesis G70 is 4,685 mm (184.4”) long about the size of a Tesla Model 3 (4,720 mm/185.8”). However it may be slightly smaller and sportier in look and expected to fill the gap with the Audi A5 coupe and convertible being discontinued.
Like the GV90, Genesis’ upcoming ultra-luxury electric SUV, the G70 EV will be built on Hyundai’s new eM platform, which will replace the current E-GMP.
Genesis is set to unveil the GV90 by the end of the year (here’s a glimpse after it was spotted for the first time in South Korea). Meanwhile, the G70 EV is still in development and isn’t expected to launch until 2027 or 2028. In Korea, prices are expected to start at around 70 million won, or just under $50,000.
