Concern rises as Ford is recalling their certain Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sports models over the issue of front wiper motor. The news comes in light as a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reported on August 9.
As the reports come Ford began an investigation for the windshield wiper falling on Bronco Sports and Maverick. Or has just recalled of their total 37,300 models of EVs which includes the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach -E and Bronco Sport Models and 2023-2024 Mavericks.
Ford has found that the windshield wipers falls as the water got into the motor of windshield wipers. Also it returned the part to the supplier, which found a lack of sealer between the gear cover and gear housing as the root cause.
There is also a manufacturing records related to the same incident that was happened on June 18, 2022, and September 1, 2023. Going deep we founds that the suspect wiper motors produces in June were assembled into Maverick and Mach-E models, while the units made in September were installed into Bronco Sport and Mavericks.
Ford confirmed that the 3,603 Mustang Mach-E, 15,087 Bronco Sport and 18,681 Maverick models might be equipped with the faulty motor. The brand estimated that it is only 5% have this defect. And on July 14, 2024 Ford is aware of 81 globally warranty resorts with confirmed water damage to the wiper motor.
Ford said of now 37,371 models are potentially affected. Dealers will inspect and replaced the wiper motor free of charger or the owner letters are expected to be mailed out on August 26, 2024.
