Volvo, a renowned Swedish car brand has recently show off it’s latest version of it’s flagship XC90 SUV and highly anticipated all-electric EX90. Further at the recent media event held at company headquarters in Gothenbury, Sweden on Wednesday, brand also shared the details of it’s revamped hybrid SUV.
Volvo has introduced it’s XC90 in 2002 and then modified it as hybrid and plug-in version in recent time, and available in three different variants: two mild hybrids, the B5 and B6, and a T8 PHEV. For 2025 the EV also get an inside out change. Also Volvo has emphasized that it’s one of the few plug-ins with a seven-seat option.
The 2025 T8 model will com with an inline four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor and 400-volt three-layer lithium ion 18.8 kWh battery with 14.7 kWh of usable energy. This unable the model total electric range of 33 miles, but Volvo anticipated drivers using a blend of battery and gas power. The other most powerful version of XC90s, the all-wheel drive PHEV offers 310 horsepower with 295 pound-feet of torque and a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.1 seconds.
Also the new XC90 get a redesigned front-end, new hood and bumper area and the Volvo-famous Thor’s hammer headlights are slimmer. There is also a new wheel designs and lighting in the backend interior. The revamped models will remain in the three trims Core, Plus and Ultra.
To make it’s model updated it also features with new update tech features such as a 11.2-inch center display, infotainment system with access to Google Maps, Assistant and Play. Further buyers also has an options for connecting an iPhone through a USB-Cable to Apple CarPlay. Also the brand has modernize the front console area with easier access to the wireless charging mat and an extra cup holder.
Other new features include a new exterior color- Mulberry Red that is inspired by Scandinavian autumn, two new interior materials Nordico, a leather-free material and Herringbone Weave, a recycled polyester textile to align with brand’s sustainability values. For maintain comfort the XC90 has upgrade suspension with a double wishbone system in the front.
The same safety ADAS and features with driver support systems that Volvo prides itself on will carry onto the new flagship. Last month, the 2024 was names a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for highway Safety (IIHS).Brand has announced the base price of XC90 will start at $58,450 plus a $1,295 destination fee but the pricing of 2025 plug-in version will be announced later. Production is expected to start by the end of this year with deliveries in the beginning of 2025.
