Mercedes has teasing it’s fans with upcoming lower-priced Mercedes CLA EV before the official debut of the EV. However there were many occasion when the Mercedes CLA EV has been spotted. In April it was caught during winter testing was going on in the Arctic Circle revealing its stylish silhouette. The teased electric car is expected to officially unveil the production CLA EV later this year as a 2026 model globally including in the US and Europe.
The Mercedes CLA EV concept has been unveiled by the Mercedes last year. Mercedes deemed it the new “one-liter car” due to its superior efficiency. After spotting several time in the wild this time we gets closer look of the EV after the production-spec model was showcased during an event in France.

The new Mercedes is based on the MMA platform, brand also claimed the entry-level EV will have an energy consumption of abut 5.2 mi/kWh. Its new in-house drivetrain is based on the ultra-efficient Vision EQXX.
However the release images are not as clear, however it seen that the coming EV has four-door coupe’s streamlined silhouette, shark-nose front end, and new headlight design. It is expected the new platform will boost over 750km of WLTP estimated driving range. Also the 800V platform enables the fast charging of the EV that is up to 248 miles in 15 minutes.
The EV is based on the new MMA platform that supports all-electric, plug-in hybrid, and traditional hybrid models, the closed-off front grille suggests it could be the EV version. However a high-performance AMG version was also spotted racing around the Nurburgring last month ahead of its official debut.
Inside the Mercedes CLA EV there is a Mercedes’ new OS (MB.OS), which the company calls “the brain” behind its next-gen vehicles. Although Mercedes has not announced anything about pricing but it is expected to start at around $50,000. And could be potential rival to Tesla’s base Long Range RWD Model 3 ($42,490) with 363 miles EPA-estimated range in the US.
