Fiat has unveiled the new Grande Panda, available as both an electric vehicle (EV) and a hybrid. Fiat has showcased five new Panda-inspired concepts at the Geneva Motor Show in February. It is also title as the first, a city car slightly bigger than the Panda, will be revealed in July.
The Grand Panda sports EV is inspired by the 1980s Panda as it features a retro, rugged design with wedge-shaped contours, robust wheel arches, and dynamic curves. Also the pixel-stye headlights and giant “Panda” lettering enhance its distinctive looks. Also it is the first of Fiat’s new global lineup based on a multi-energy platform that is also used in new Citroen e-30.
The Grade Panda is a compact family car at 3.99 meters long, slightly shorter than the Chevy Bolt EV (163.2-inches long). It is also expected that the pricing of the EV will be similar to the Citrone e-C3, starting at around $25,000. Which makes it one of the most affordable EVs on the market.
Fiat says the vehicle’s “Italian personality” is apparent through it’s design and distinctive features. Unique pixel-style headlights arranged in a “chessboard pattern” and giant “Panda” lettering on the side add to the retro look.
Fiat plans to launch the new Grande Panda in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with a new model released annually until 2027. However, the brand has not said anything about there US release. But another affordable EV Fiat’s first electric car, the 500e has already launched in the US with the starting price of $32,000.
Fiat is also emphasizes the Grande Pands’s “Italian personality” through it’s unique design and features.It is a great combination of retro style and modern technology makes it as a forward-looking choice for eco-conscious drivers.
