The e-Motorcross was piloted by riders Yoshikazu Hosaka and Yuka sugahara and sowcased its competitive edge on the world stage with the price of 978,000 Yen, equivalent of about $6,238 USD.
Caofen FX: A New Contender in Electric Motocross
Caofen’s FX motocrosser is packed with advanced features that makes it a top-tier machine. Caofan says that the bike is equipped with a high-power electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 12,000 watts (16 horsepower). While 16 horsepower might not sound impressive compared to traditional internal combustion engines, electric horsepower has a tendency to feel much stronger compared to ICE power. Because electric motors offer instantaneous and continuous power delivery, providing a robust and thrilling ride.
One of the highlighting features of the bike is its innovative battery technology- Direct Immersion Liquid Cooled Battery. Caofen claims this is the world’s first direct immersion liquid-cooled battery. It allows for superior temperature management and efficient operation in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Company also asserts that this battery has eight times the thermal balance of typical EV batteries, resulting in up to 50% less temperature rise.
For standard features of a dirt-bike, Caofen says that the FX is made up with a “Zero Weld Frame”, which is constructed from a single piece of aluminum-magnesium alloy. That ensures that the bike is both lighter and stiffer, enhancing the handling capabilities. It also features adjustable suspension systems on both front and rear, paired with standard 21-18 wheels, making it adaptable to various off-road conditions.
