We knew it was on the way. Cadillac first teased the Lyriq-V in late October, giving us a glimpse of its first all-electric V-Series vehicle.

Cadillac’s V-Series performance brand is synonymous with iconic sports cars like the CT5-V Blackwing, but the Lyriq-V aims to elevate the brand even further, according to John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac.

As the first EV to bear the V-Series badge, the Lyriq-V promised impressive power—and it delivered. Cadillac officially unveiled the 2026 Lyriq-V on Thursday, revealing specs, pricing, and additional details.

Power and Performance

With an estimated 615 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, and a standard dual-motor AWD powertrain, the Lyriq-V is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, making it Cadillac’s fastest vehicle ever. This performance even surpasses the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, which sprints to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.

While the CT5-V Blackwing boasts slightly more horsepower (668 hp), the Lyriq-V’s electric powertrain offers instant, powerful acceleration. The EV features a Velocity Max mode that unlocks its full performance potential, providing a burst of speed and power.

Design Updates

The Lyriq-V differentiates itself from the standard Lyriq with a lower center of gravity and unique exterior enhancements. These include custom front and rear bumpers, V-Series badging on the rear doors and tailgate, V-pattern mesh on the lower grille, and 22-inch wheels with the V-Series logo etched into the sides.

Inside, it retains some luxury features from the original Lyriq, such as a panoramic fixed glass roof, a 23-speaker AKG sound system, and a 33-inch LED display screen. The V-Series model adds exclusive touches like a sports steering wheel with hand grips, a V-mode button, a V-Series illuminated sill plate, and V-pattern detailing on the seatbacks.

Battery and Range

The Lyriq-V is equipped with a 102 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated range of up to 285 miles.

Pricing and Availability

The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V starts at $79,990, including destination fees. For comparison, the Tesla Model Y Performance, priced at $51,490, offers an EPA-estimated range of 277 miles, AWD, and a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.5 seconds.

Market Launch

The Lyriq-V will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with additional markets to be announced closer to launch. Production is set to begin at GM’s Spring Hill, Tennessee, facility in early 2025.

What do you think of Cadillac’s new performance EV? Would you consider spending $80,000 on the Lyriq-V, or would you stick with a Model Y Performance? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
