BYD has launched its improved high performance oriented new Dolphin Honor Edition. After selling 367,419 Dolphin models last year that is up 79% over 2022. The very first all electric Hatch back was BYD’s most selling EV since it’s launching in 2021. The company is also expanding in overseas with recent launches in Japan, Europe, Mexico, Brazil, and others.
Now BYD is launching its one of the most important EV Dolphin Honor Edition after declaring a price war with gas-powered vehicles early this week. This new Dolphin model is BYD’s cheapest one starting under $14,000. That makes it one most demanded mode of company.
The BYD Dolphin Honor Edition will come in four trim options namely – Vitality, Free, Fashion and Knight. Among them the new entry-level Dolphin starts at $13,900 that provides up to 187 mi (302 Km) of CLTC range in the battery pack of 32kWh. That is approximately 5% cheaper than the previous model.
Also the 4,125 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, and 1,570 mm tall new Dolphin is the same size as its predecessors but is slightly smaller then the Volkswagen’s ID.3. Along that it is powered by the two electric motors just Dolphin EV. But the new LEP battery options are unique.
The key features of the Honor Edition model include a new 16-inch five hole flower wheel and two colors. Further in the sleek interior you got a 50W wireless phone charger, a new type-C charging port, and ventilated front seats. Also a 12.8” rotation screen and 5” instrument display inside.
Another notable improvement is an updated rear suspension. This is an independent suspension that makes the new Dolphin Honor Edition closer to the version launched in Europe.
