Now with the rise of affordable EV getting at a high pace every automaker is willing to provide affordable budget friendly EV to its consumers. In the race for affordable EV, GM is ready to take the lead with it’s upcoming EV.
GM’s new North America president said the upcoming next-gen Chevy Bolt EV will be “the most affordable electric vehicle on the market by 2025.” The news comes from the recent interview of Marossa West, president with Automotive News.. She said the company is really excited to get the Bolt back to the market after phasing it out in the past.
The upcoming EV will be the company’s first Ultium model to use LFP batteries, resulting in the affordable offering of the EV. according to Marossa West. The EV is expected to come to the U.S. market next year.
Middle of that time the brand has another fleet mew electric model ready to launch including the new Chevy Equinox, Blazer and Silverado EVs. One of the key factors is that all the EVs are based on the Ultium platform.
As part of GM’s Ultium platform the EV features multiple motor and battery options and offers incredible versatility and power to the vehicle.
West also added that the brand is going to built on the momentum it built with the Bolt. Underpinned by its Ultium platform, the coming Bolt will be better than ever. It will be a great blend of styling , range and really good charging time.
As of now the GM has not specified the pricing for the coming new Chevy Bolt EV, but the brand has said it will need to be cheaper than that to be the most affordable on the market.
