BYD’s premium brand Fang Cheng Bao has just unveiled its new crossover SUV Model Bao 8 as well as two concerts the Super 3 and Super 9 as its spring launch event in Shenzhen.
The Super 3 is a concept of the yet-to-be-released SUV the Bao3 and the Super 9 is a 2-seat supercar concept. The brand has said that it will showcase its full range of models at the 24 Beijing auto show.
Fang Cheng Bao said, “the Bao 8 is based on the previously announced Super 8 concept that incorporated the design concept of future starship.”
Concept of car for the Bao 3, The super 3 is based on the Starfighter-inspired design, It will be sleek with three-dimensional lines creating a sculpted metal body structure that deliver a flamboyant expression of individuality. According to CarNewsChina, the Bao 3 is expected to start at around $27,500 (200,000 Yuan).
With it’s rugged “interstellar chariot” design electric SUV, BYD’s is aimed to attract younger buyers. This upcoming EV also has a feature of drone landing on the roof for a “car-to-sky” experience.
However the Super 9 concept sports car combines speed with art, and is a specialized sports car in the Speedster category, featuring a space-cockpit cab, as per brand words.
BYD has announced Fang Cheng Bao as its fifth sub-brand targeting the premium market. It specializes in personalized and professional-grade new energy vehicles (NEVs), which is expected to help the auto group achieve higher sales as well as boost profitability.
On the event company’s chief scientist, Lian Yubo also said that most of Fang Cheng Bao crossover features BYD’s developed a plug-in hybrid system called Dual Mode Off-Road (DMO) for off-road driving experiences with better fuel economy and high horsepower.
At the event of investor briefing in March, Wang Chuanfu, The company’s chairman and president said, “ In 2024 BYD’s full year sales are expected to grow more than 20 percent from 2023.” It means that more than 3.63 million vehicles will be sold in the current year.
