On Monday, BYD launched the new Qin Plus Honor Edition and said it’s “officially opening a new era of electricity that is lower than oil.” Recently BYD has suppressed Tesla to take the top-selling global EV maker in Q4 and is ready with plans to keep the momentum in 2024.
Recent leaked plans of BYD showing several new electric models will hit the market as soon as possible. Even at present in the best low-cost EV segment BYD has gained the name with its Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal. Further BYD launched its Yangwang ultra-luxury brand last January with starting prices around $140,000 with the aim of brand expansion.
BYD’s luxury brand launched its first vehicle, the U8 off-roader in september. IN the lineup BYD unveiled the brand’s first ultra-premium sedan, the YangWang U7, last month. To achieve its goal BYD launched new versions of two of its sedans as it look to continue stealing market share from gas vehicles.
Automakers new Qin Plus Honor Edition comes with three significant refreshes. The DM-i (PHEV) version starts at $11,000. That gives a range up to 120 km NEDC all-electric range. Also Qin Plus EV is available in five models placed in the price range of $15,200 to $19,400.
Where BYD has launched the Qin Plus Champion Edition for the same prices as the gas-powered vehicles this time it reveals the all-electric versions.
The all version of electric vehicles includes an electric motor up to 134 hp (100 kW) and 132 lb-ft (180 Nm) max torque. Along with either a 48 kWh or 57.6 kWh battery pack from up to 261 mi (420 km) and 316 miles (510 km) as per respectively CLTC range. This Qin Plus Honor Edition could be a brand cheaper edition to be offered.
