But this time Decathlon is taking the limelight with its newly launched Van Rysel E-EDR AF Apex, a new e-bike with its attractive price tag.
The New E-bike is meant to be as light as possible without compromising on the performance. It is thoroughly a new venture for the Decathlon’s into the ultra-lightweight electric road bike segment. Weighing only 14 kilograms due to its impressive aluminium frame. Other than that there are also many impressive components like a Sram APEX 12-speed drivetrain with matching Sram APEX hydraulic disk brakes, ensuring smooth and responsive ride.
Performance wise, the Van Rysel E-EDR Apex is packed with some quite impressive technology. Inducing the versatile Mahle X35 rear hub motor, offering three assistance settings to cater to different riding styles. Also a BC900 GPS computer keeps riders informed about their riding journey.
Another highlight regarding the bike is its Range. Decathlon claims it can cover an impressive 100 miles on a single charge via a 250-watt-hour battery and range extender. The brand further clarified that don’t expect to achieve this range if you rely a lot on electric assists.
To make it more accessible the brand said that it will offer two different variants of the Van Rysel E-EDR AF Apex suitable for women and Men. “Also the new e-bike has gone through a comprehensive real-world testing under various conditions for six months.” according to Decathlon. Thanks to its lightweight aluminium frame and carbon fork, it provides riders with an agile and nimble ride.
The brand said that the Van Rysel E-EDR AF Apex is priced competitively near $ 3,080 (2,800 euros), lower than its competitors. With the new e-bike, Decathlon hopes to attract performance-oriented riders, who are looking to explore the world of e-biking, without getting out-of pocket.
