General Motors’ Cadillac division recently announced that it would launch a new electric crossover under the name of VISTIQ. This would be the fourth EV crossover with the entry-level OPTIQ, followed by the LYRIQ. This midsize VISTIQ SUV will boost the luxury brand’s shift to an electric lineup by 2030.
The three-row 2023 SUV model is the third electric vehicle the company offers this year that will be the firth to join the brand EV line-up. Cadillac further confirmed that the new Vistiq SUV is expected to slot in between the Compact SUV Lyriq and Escalade IQ in terms of size and price.
“VISTIQ adds another compelling EV to the Cadillac lineup, reinforcing our commitment to an electric future,” said John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac. “Our brand now has an EV entry in most luxury segments, offering customers a range of choices, and Cadillac EVs will cover most luxury SUV segments across critical global markets in the next two years.”
The brand hasn’t revealed any further details of the forthcoming Vistiq aside from the name and its placement in the lineup. But so far, considering the price, you can probably expect the new Vistiq will be around the bracket of $70,000–$90,000, depending on your trim level and list of options.
It is expected, like other Cadillac models, the Vistiq will be built on GM’s Ultium Battery Platform, Which is intended to offer a wide range of vehicle type and shapes along with the great flexibility and multifaceted changement in the electric vehicle. The brand has said that Ultimum can support up to 200 kWh of power, which could allow for a driving range of up to 400 miles.
Carrying a lot of design like flush door handles, a diamond-cut pattern on the faux frill, side panels or front and rear lights from the brand’s early debut Lyriq, the Vastiq will thrive in the market in upcoming years. The midsize Vistiq SUV will have to compete with other mid to full size SUVs like the Tesla Model X, the Rivian R1S and the Kia EV9.
