Subaru’s electric SUV, the 2025 Subaru Solterra, sees a significant price drop, making it up to $7,000 cheaper than its 2024 predecessor. The starting price is now under $39,000, with Subaru announcing the base Premium trim at $38,495—a $6,500 reduction from last year.

The 2025 lineup retains the Premium, Limited, and Touring trims but introduces a new Touring Onyx Edition. Priced at $45,495, the Touring Onyx features 10-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels, blacked-out design elements, and updated badging. Other trims also receive price reductions, with the Limited now starting at $41,995 (down $6,500) and the Touring at $44,995 (down $7,000).

How 2025 Subaru Solterra is Cheaper and Competitive ?

All 2025 Solterra models include Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD for improved traction and control, complemented by Dual-Function X-Mode offering Snow/Dirt and Snow/Mud settings.

Off-road capabilities are enhanced with Grip Control, Downhill Assist, and a “best-in-class” 8.3-inch ground clearance. On-road performance is supported by standard Active Cornering Assist and Vehicle Stability Control.

The 2025 Subaru Solterra features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims also come with a convenient wireless phone charger.

The powertrain remains consistent, with a 72.8 kWh battery delivering an EPA-estimated range of 227 miles for the base Premium trim. The Limited, Touring, and new Touring Onyx trims offer slightly less range at 222 miles.

Subaru’s introduction of the blacked-out Touring Onyx Edition mirrors Toyota’s move with the stealthy “Nightshade” trim for the bZ4X. Toyota has also reduced prices for the 2025 bZ4X by $6,000
